Promptr Beta is a Chrome extension that helps you save, organize, and reuse AI prompts across different AI tools. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Data Collection and Storage
What We Collect
- Email Address: Used for account creation and authentication
- Saved Prompts: The text content you choose to save through the extension
- Tool Information: The AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) where you saved the prompt
- Optional Metadata: Prompt names, model information (if provided)
How We Store Data
All data is stored securely in Supabase (a cloud database service):
- Your prompts are stored in a database with user-level access controls
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
- Each user can only access their own saved prompts
Authentication
- We use Supabase Auth for secure authentication
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- Access tokens are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API
Data Usage
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the extension's core functionality: Saving and retrieving your prompts
- To sync your data: So your prompts are available across devices when you're logged in
- We do NOT: Sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising
Data Access and Control
Your Rights
- View your data: All saved prompts are visible in the extension popup
- Delete your data: You can delete individual prompts or contact us to delete your account
- Export your data: You can view and copy your prompts at any time through the extension
Data Retention
- Your prompts are stored until you delete them or request account deletion
- If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed

storage: To cache your prompts locally for faster access
activeTab: To detect text selections and inject the "Save to Promptr" button

What We DON'T Access
- We do NOT read your browsing history
- We do NOT track your activity on websites
- We do NOT access data from tabs you haven't interacted with
- We only inject UI elements when you make a text selection
Security
- All API communications use HTTPS encryption
- Authentication tokens are stored securely in Chrome's storage
- User data is isolated per account (user_id filtering)
